WISR Realty Inc., was born out of the frustration of not being able to provide services in a way that I felt were fair, reasonable and solutions oriented.

I've been working as a REALTOR since 2005 but I haven't been very happy about the way the system operated. I found myself questioning my role as a REALTOR. Many times throughout that period I've thought about quitting. Not because I don't enjoy helping people find a home or learn about investing but more about the real estate system itself.

I had issues with how REALTORS were compensated. And it just felt wrong. Morally and ethically wrong. How could I provide the same services to one client and be compensated more based on the value of the home they bought or sold. My accountant doesn't charge me based on my income. Neither does any other service professional. Needless to say I've struggled with this for many years. And I'm sure consumers are losing confidence in the real estate industry as we see many for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) companies take advantage of this.

For-sale-by-owner companies are offering nothing more than a web site and a sign with no professional guidance. I felt that people were wasting a lot of money using these companies even though they advertise that consumers are saving a bunch of commission. But they fail to mention that 80-90% of for-sale-by-owner properties end up listing with a real estate company. I thought "why can't I offer what these FSBO companies are doing, (let people sell privately), while providing consumers the protection and guidance needed from a professional"?

I've decided to make a change. I decided to start my own real estate company. My clients can now choose from a menu of services that I offer. They can choose to have there property posted on the MLS and they can do the rest of the work themselves or I can do it all for them. It's my clients' choice. And I feel that this eliminates the natural conflict of interest that is there when using traditional real estate services.
